About

I am a PhD Student in the Department of Sociology at The Ohio State University, and a graduate affiliate of the Mershon Center for International Security Studies and the Translational Data Analytics Institute. My research sits at the intersection of politics, culture, and group dynamics, with a particular focus on hate, extremism, and political violence. Methodologically, I am especially interested in mixed-methods designs that link macro-level patterns with underlying processes.

My work has appeared or is forthcoming in a range of sociological, criminological, and political science-oriented journals, including: Social Problems, Contexts, Journal of Criminal Justice, and Politics, Groups & Identities. I also write for public audiences, with contributions to the Global Network on Extremism and Technology's Insight Series, Fair Observer Magazine, the Center for Research on Extremism's Right Now!, and the European Consortium for Political Research's The Loop

For examples of ongoing projects, data, and code, please see my Projects page and GitHub. Alternatively, check out some of my recent appearances in broadcast and other media.
